Acceptable use policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This policy sets out what customers and their users must not do with Fun In Raising. It forms part of our Terms of service.
1. Fundraising conduct
You must not use the service to plan, train or support fundraising that:
- puts undue pressure on supporters, or ignores a clear refusal;
- targets people because of a vulnerability, their age, or any protected characteristic;
- makes claims about a charity that the charity has not approved;
- breaks the Code of Fundraising Practice, a licence, an exemption order or a site agreement;
- ignores no-cold-calling zones or signs.
2. People and data
You must not:
- put personal data into the service without a lawful basis;
- use location features to track anyone outside their working time, or without telling them;
- record profiles of residents or supporters beyond what the service asks for;
- upload special category data (such as health or religion) unless it is necessary and lawful, for example a safeguarding report;
- use the service to make fully automated decisions about promotion, discipline or pay.
3. Content
You must not upload or create content that is unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
4. Security and fair use
You must not:
- try to access another organisation's data, or test our security without our written permission;
- share accounts, or give access to people who are not your users;
- interfere with the service, overload it, or use automated tools against it except through an interface we provide;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service or its academy content;
- use the AI features to generate content that misleads supporters.
5. What we do about breaches
If we reasonably believe this policy has been broken, we may remove content, suspend a user, or in serious cases suspend the organisation. Where we can, we will contact the customer first and give them a chance to put things right.
6. Reporting
To report misuse of the service, email [email protected]. To report a security issue, see our security page.
